IL-2 FB Game Setup for USLG, UP 2.01 + USL ADDONS Options

Availability of Ultr@Pack (UP) 2.01 has been announced and will be used on the USLG servers.

Please read before installation.

Note: you will need around 11GB of drive space to perform the installation.
. 145MB for the download of the 4.08m patch.
. 567MB for the download of the 4.09m patch
. 4.2GB for the download of UP 2.01
. 6GB for the installation into the game folder (disk space consumed in addition to what is used by 4.09m).

Note that the following procedure assumes you are starting at the 4.07m or 4.08m level. If you have a version earlier than 4.07m you need to locate and apply the patches to bring you to the 4.07m level before proceeding.

The installation process is as follows:

1. Install a clean version of your game patched to version 4.09m.
   4.08m patch is available at IL-2 4.08m Patch
   4.09m patch is available at IL-2 4.09m Patch
   Note that if you have a version lower than 4.08m you can not jump right to 4.09m. You must install the 4.08m patch before the 4.09m patch.
   
   
2. Optional: make a backup of your "clean" 4.09m installation. Details on how to backup your game can be found here Backup Procedure.
   
   
3. Download and install Ultr@Pack version 2.01.
   
   
   • If you already have Ultr@Pack 2.0n you can get the Update Patch from the following links.
     Part 1 - UltraPack201_Client.exe - 1.99 MB (2,095,653 bytes)
     Part 2 - data2.cab - 376 MB (395,208,704 bytes)
     Part 3 - data3.cab - 340 MB (357,025,747 bytes)
     
     Download all three files into the same folder. Once the download is complete run UltraPack201_Client.exe to start the installation process. Use the Change button (in the Choose Destination Location dialog box) to select your IL-2 game folder and continue with the installation.
   • If you don't have UltraPack 2.0n you will need the full installer which can also be obtained from the following link as a torrent (highly recommended)

     You will need a bit torrent client before opening the file at the Full Installer link (above). If you don't already have a bit torrent client give uTorrent a try (uTorrent Web Site). After installing a bit torrent client simply download and open the up201.torrent file (in the above link). Once the torrent download is complete open the folder that the Ultr@Pack 2.01 install files where store in (in uTorrent this is done by right clicking on the UP201 entry and select the "Open Containing Folder" menu option). Double click on UltraPack201_Client.exe to start the installation process. Use the Change button (in the Choose Destination Location dialog box) to select your IL-2 game folder and continue with the installation.

     Download all nine files into the same folder. Once the download is complete run UltraPack201_Client.exe to start the installation process. Use the Change button (in the Choose Destination Location dialog box) to select your IL-2 game folder and continue with the installation.
     
     
     I strongly suggest you use the torrent download since it has a far lower possibility of error in the download. It also has a far better stop and resume ability. If you don't already have a torrent client give uTorrent a try (uTorrent Web Site)
   
   
   
4. If you have a Direct 2 Drive (downloaded) version of IL-2 you will need to install the SAS D2D Patch. Available at SAS D2D Patch

Note: Unlike earlier releases which contained both client and server installers this release is only for the game client. Installation of Ultr@Pack 2.01 on a server consists of installing the client files (as detailed above) followed by running the server setup/configuration program. The server setup/configuration program is available separately at the following link.

USL server are IL-2 4.09m with Ultr@Pack 2.01. They are configured with the following UltraPack add-ons

• UltraPack 2.01
• USL Addons

Note that the USL Addons consists of the following

• ZUTI MDS 1.13
• Stock Clouds
• Tougher Bridges
• Tougher Trains
• Zloy PetrushkO AAA mod fast
• 6DOF Tracker 2.0

Notes:

1. Use JSGME to enable the 00_USL ADDONS before joining the USLG servers.

3. You MUST have 00_USL ADDONS selected in the right column of your JSGME. Anything more or less and you will not be able to access the servers.

NOTE:

If you already have UP 1.8 installed and working - you do not need to download the full UP 2.0.

In order to upgrade your UP 1.8 version, follow the link above for upgrading to UP 2.0 and only down load the 3 download files needed to update UP 1.8 to UP 2.0

After you complete the download of all three files simply click on the exe file and it will unload all the rar's AND walk you thru the update - READ CAREFULLY and FOLLOW the instructions!!

I want to emphasize the following point...

You MUST have 00_USL ADDONS selected in the right column of your JSGME. Anything more or less and you will not be able to access the servers.

Something very important and very easy to do to fix 2.01. After installation there is a shortcut placed on your desktop called "Ultr@Pack Update & Restore". Just run this for version 2.01. Once completed (and it'll take a while first time) then RUN IT AGAIN because there are fixes applied to the update program itself.
